Apart from our dedication to the process of achieving a more beautiful smile, we also make an effort to document some of our most interesting cases, so our current and future patients can see how we do things at Nova Dental Clinic!
Replacing old fillings, removing white spots, enhancing teeth with composite veneers, restoring function and aesthetics with implants and dental crowns – these are just some of the treatments we’ve prepared for you to showcase how patients look before and after their procedures in our clinic. We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them!
Removing white spots
White spots on teeth can appear for various reasons, as we’ve discussed in our blog White Spots on Teeth.
Even our youngest patients often hide their smiles because of this issue. To change that, we use the ICON treatment for non-invasive white spot removal. For example, in just one visit, we achieved an excellent result for our young patient Arslan, giving his permanent teeth a completely new appearance.
Now, Arslan can enjoy his childhood with a big smile on his face.i postigli odličan rezultat, a njegovim mladim trajnim zubima dali potpuno novi izgled. Arslan sada može uživati u djetinjstvu sa širokim osmijehom na licu.
Removing white spots isn’t intended for children only. Many of our adult patients, who take exceptional care of their teeth and gums, notice even the slightest imperfections on their teeth. For instance, our patient Šejla’s teeth had a beautiful shape and color, but the white spots on her front teeth disrupted the overall impression. Treating those spots was the final step towards Šejla’s perfect smile!
Treating baby teeth
Baby teeth play a crucial role – not only in chewing, speaking, and preserving space for permanent teeth, but also in a child’s psychological development. Studies have shown that poor appearance of baby teeth can lower a child’s self-confidence and foster a negative self-image from an early age. That’s why we are just as committed to caring for baby teeth as we are for permanent teeth – because every child deserves a happy, radiant smile!
Composite veneers
One of our patients, due to the nature of her job, wanted to enhance the appearance of her upper front teeth. Previously, she had been advised to solve the problem with crowns, but she declined, believing her natural teeth were still worth preserving! Instead, we reshaped her teeth with six composite veneers, a process that required time and patience from both sides. The final results delighted both the patient and our team, proving once again that prosthetic solutions aren’t always necessary to achieve a highly aesthetic look. Sometimes, all it takes is a skilled doctor’s hand!
Fillings
A common debate in dentistry is whether it’s necessary to replace “black” amalgam fillings with “white” composite ones. Amalgam fillings have good mechanical properties and, if placed properly, can last for many years. However, in cases like this one, where old and defective fillings were present, replacement was essential to preserve the tooth structure from further decay. We meticulously maintained the natural morphology and color, leaving the teeth looking as good as new!
Metal-ceramic prosthetic work
Mrs. Azra wanted her lower teeth restored with metal-ceramic prosthetic work. She wished to keep her zirconia-ceramic crowns in the upper jaw, making it a challenge to harmonize the lower look with the upper look without any visible discrepancies. The final result demonstrated that metal-ceramics could also achieve aesthetically satisfying results.
Zirconia-implant combination
Timely replacement of lost back teeth helps maintain chewing function and prevents the process of bone loss. In this case, the patient wanted the best solution possible: dental implants. The remaining teeth in the jaw were restored with zirconia-ceramic crowns. A highly aesthetic and functional solution of this type will undoubtedly serve the patient well for many years to come!
Dentures
Even with full dentures, we can achieve aesthetically pleasing results, as demonstrated by our patient who traveled all the way from Norway. During a short vacation in Sarajevo, he replaced his old full denture with a new one featuring five-layer Physiodens teeth at Nova Dental Clinic. The solution is here!
Some cases require extra effort and patience
As a little girl, Naida broke her right front tooth. After a root canal treatment, the tooth darkened, and the filling used to repair it became highly noticeable.
Wishing to enhance the color and appearance of her teeth, Naida visited Nova Dental Clinic. Initially, she wanted a prosthetic solution, but we proposed a better idea. Using a CBCT scan, we identified improper root canal treatment, starting her procedure with a revision of the root canal. This was followed by gingivectomy (gum reshaping), which made her teeth look longer and more proportionate. Naida then used home whitening trays until achieving the desired shade. Finally, her front teeth were corrected with composite veneers directly modeled in her mouth by the skilled hands of Dr. Maja.
Although a conservative approach requires significant effort and patience from both the patient and the team, we always recommend what’s best for you, prioritizing medical over purely aesthetic considerations.
In our mission for “a smile that stands out,” we use every opportunity to emphasize the how important it is to maintain oral hygiene and how important it is not to skip regular visits to the dentist.
